Maria is as beautiful as Joana.
French is as important as Spanish.
John is as rich as Mark.

Ex: Maria is twice as rich as Ana.
E não twice richer.
Ex: Chinese is ten times as difficult as English.

Usamos more than
John is more intelligent than Jack.
She is more beautiful than her sister.
English is more important than French.

He is richer than his dad.
We are older than you.
My car is newer than yours.
She is fatter than us.
She is thinner than us.

handsome - more handsme
crowded - more crowded
boring - more boring

clever - cleverer
narrow - narrower
simple - simpler
pretty - prettier

E há os casos irregulares:
good - better
bad - worse
far - farther

She is becoming richer and richer. (ou older and older, ou meaner and meaner...)
She is becoming more and more intelligent. ( ou more and more important...)

Ex 2: Quanto mais...mais...
The more educated, the more intelligent.
Quanto mais instruído, mais inteligente.

The sooner, the better.
Quanto mais cedo, melhor.

Por último o comparativo de inferioridade.
Usamos less...than apenas nos casos em que podemos usar more...than
Julia is more intelligent than Patty.
Patty is less intelligent than Julia.

Math is more difficult than Chemestry.
Chemestry is less difficult than Math. OU
Chemestry is easier than Math. Os dois estã ocertos.

Mas:
John is richer than Sue.
Sue is poorer than John. Correto.
Sue is less rich than John.
